Behind the Scenes...Photo Shoe-t

I know, I know. Almost a month without posting, I totally suck. I hope you follow my Tumblr because I update that almost daily. It's so convenient.
It's been 10 months and this divorce thing is still really affecting me. I don't know why but I find it hard to do the things I used to love to do. Blogging included. BUT... this isn't a therapy session its a muthafuggin shoe blog so let's get to it!

This last Friday we shot for the new Fall 2012 Cece L'amour and Penny Loves Kenny lines. IT WAS SO AWESOME!! We had a really great team of super talented people and we had a lot of fun. Like, probably more fun than you're supposed to have when you're working ;) We shot it at the beautiful Biltmore hotel in downtown Los Angeles and shot from 10am to close to 10pm. Crazy long day!

I'm no longer designing for bebe. I've handed it off to another designer who's got some great ideas and is going to have a lot of fun with it. I'm now concentrating on my own brand, Cece L'amour... my baby. And a really fun brand named Penny Loves Kenny. We own both of those names and I think it's awesome to be designing for the 2 brands that my father's company actually owns. It's more personal.

Anyway- here's a look behind the scenes...

The best part about these shoots was that I got to use my beautiful friends as models. It's so INSANE that I have actual friends that are this beautiful.
The amazing and ridiculously gorgeous Skully Smith for Penny Loves Kenny...

Me in my Cece L'amor floral mary janes, deciding which shoe to shoot next...

Up next, another stunning friend of mine, Dianna Ryan for Cece L'amour.

These are my favorite for fall!!

And me again, in rare form. FLATS!? Yep. Sometimes you gotta get on the roof of the historic Biltmore hotel in your Chucks. ;)

Love you all!!

IFB Conference!

Hello out there! Is anyone still listening? I don't blame you if you're not. I know i've been terrible at keeping up to date on my blog but I have to be honest when I say that I just haven't had it in me. This life change is way harder than I thought it could be and I just haven't found the energy to blog about shoes.

That being said, I am now in New York and it's the day before the IFB Conference and I'm keeping my little blogger fingers crossed that this event will be the kick in the ass I need to get me back in the blogging mood!  I mean, if this doesn't do the trick I don't know what will.

I've missed the last few IFB Conferences due to timing so I'm excited to be there in person to check it out. For those of you who aren't able to make it I will be live streaming the event right here on my blog... You should definitely tune in. At least check in and see what it's about!

All my love and warmest wishes!

Confession of a Shoe Girl...

Are you guys totally over me?
I haven't been blogging a lot recently because of a few reasons. I don't flatter myself thinking you guys are all depressed that I'm not posting but I have gotten some tweets and emails asking why... so, I'll be frank.
There are a few reasons. One being that my readership has gone down every month since December so I feel like I'm doing something wrong but don't know what. Some of you say it's cause I'm posting less but that's because I'm busier than ever working on 4 shoe lines at once (I'm the only designer for 2 brands and helping out with 2 others).
You know... I'm just a girl with insecurities and shit and I look at other shoe blogs where they post once a week and just post pictures of themselves and people go ape shit over it.
Ya ya, I'm whining... It's my blog I can wine if I wanna! ;)

Second- I feel like a fat blob. I know that I'm not fat but I've been eating really bad and weigh more than I ever have in my life and you know how it goes when you feel ugly- you don't want pictures of yourself online.
I am NOT fishing for compliments! Again, I'm just being honest because I know I'm not the only person that feels like this sometimes and I know it's nice to hear it from others.
I had to photoshop a fat roll out of my last post (the lollipop one where I'm sitting down) and that kind of threw me in a shame spiral. YES I'm dramatic but you guys are my people so I can tell you this stuff.

So- yesterday I decided to finally get over myself and post some of the most amazing shoes of the season that I am lucky enough to have when I when, oh crap- I hit my toe so hard that I thought I broke it!

I didn't, thank God, but it still hurts too much to walk on without limping. How cool are X-rays!? I love them. I want more to put in my office.

OUCH!!!!!

I'll post something good soon though my friends, soon. Maybe you could tell me what you guys want to see more of? I'm curious to know.

Love you all... thanks for listening. Sorry for the pity party.

Held Captive!

Ok, so I'm alive and no, I haven't really been kidnapped. I just got back from China where, as you know, they block my blog so I can't post.

Now it's 2am and I should be sleeping and I'm trying to type quietly despite these dang Japanese nail art nails (click clack click clack!!!) so as not to wake Ben up. He does look angelic when he's sleeping... ♥

Anyway- just wanted to tell you all that I'm alive and well, and I'm sorry for my lack of posts. I'll be back with a new post soon, right after I spend some much needed cuddle time with my hubby and puppies.

Hope you all are having a great start to 2010!!

Lost In Puppy Land... Then Found Again

This is my excuse for being away for the last WEEK (ahhhh!)... Look at that face and I dare you to be mad at me. ;)

UGGG! She's so cute. But any of you who own or have owned puppies know that they are total time suckers. Especially when they're this teeny and scrumptious de-loosh!

I went to the Louboutin boutique today (shocker, I know!) and was telling my friend/favorite salesman Patrick that I am sometimes tempted to drop Stella in the oven and cook her up.
Que cricket noise.
Obviously I was kidding... mostly. But by the silence and pained wince I got from Patrick, I guess that wasn't funny.

(jeans- JBrand, tank/bandeaux/suspenders- American Apparel, boots- L.A.M.B)

So this is what I wore today. Guess how many times people asked me if I forgot my whip at home. Well, I'll tell you. 3. Not that funny guys. They're more Edward Scissorhands than dominatrix IMO.
I do feel like I have to pick and choose when I wear these babies. They are definitely not an everyday thing, right.

*wah-pshhh!*

(that was my whip)

ANYway... sorry for my leave of absence. I'll be better this week. :)
