The World Needs Sophia Webster

I'm not going to totally get into why I stopped blogging for as long as I did, but I will say that the failure of my own line had something to do with it. I can't explain to you the feeling of getting your own shoe line, and being SO excited about it, only to have it taken away from you. It was devastating and to be honest, a little embarrassing.

Those of you who followed my blog before know that I loved making girly fun shoes. Working with Betsey Johnson as her shoe designer was one of the best experiences of my life. It was a perfect fit! I got to make shoes with flowers and bows and over the top cuteness, and I was so happy doing that. Then working with Gwen Stefani and launching the Harajuku Lovers line was equally amazing. They were fun and young and totally playful.

When I launched Cece L'amour it was during one of the hardest times of my life and I think that unfortunately, that showed in my design. I think I gathered momentum though, with the following seasons. I designed some really fun shoes that I truly loved, but maybe it was too late? Maybe it's the fault of bad timing? The shoe industry is changing a lot, and quickly. Launching a new line is always tough but it was especially tough a couple years ago. Whatever the reason, the line is currently "on hold" and it saddens me to think that there is a serious lack of fun girly shoes out there.

...But then the clouds part. Enter Sophia Webster.
I am obsessed with her fun and quirky over the top girly design esthetic! She's doing what I wish I could do. She's a 28 year old Brit who apprenticed under Nicolas Kirkwood for 2 years before launching her own line in 2012. I adore her shoes and I think it's a much needed change from a lot of the same old stuff out there.

Here are some of my favorites

I mean... SO cute, right?! I love them! And that cute little cluch!? Adorable.
Unfortunately they're pretty expensive with shoes starting at about $195, but since she's still relatively unknown, you can find them on sale if you search online :) Plus, they're literally works of art and so unique that I think the price is justifiable.

Maybe someday not too far away I'll be able to make girly, fun shoes at affordable prices again. If you're interested, Heels.com still has a few Cece L'amour styles, including my favorite wedges :) Amazon.com does as well. Check 'um out! I've linked the pages for you.

XOXO

Cece L'amour Leopard Wedges

Since so many of you asked (thank you) I wanted to share that the Cece L'amour leopard wedges I love so much are up on heels.com!!! They're one of my favorites ever. They're pretty simple and easy to wear but I get SO may compliments on them. Its super flattering and makes me so happy!!

(The yellow is a bit more mustard-y in person in my opinion)

It also comes in this floral print that I love. I lent them out to a fellow bridesmaid at my best friend's wedding last month...

It's Friday, I'm in Love

I wanted to wait until I had more pictures to share this post with you but let's just call this a preview, shall we? I'm off to mainland China today, where as most of you know, blogger is blocked. UGH.
So here's a post to tide you over while I'm gone. Though I've been such a bad blogger lately, I doubt anyone's holding their breath for new posts. ;)

Last week, two of my favorite people were married on the Queen Mary in Long Beach. I can't go into it right now because like I said, this is just a preview... but I am so happy for these two!! I love them both so much! Congrats to Lindsey and Leah Carmichael!! <3

Behind the Scenes...Photo Shoe-t

I know, I know. Almost a month without posting, I totally suck. I hope you follow my Tumblr because I update that almost daily. It's so convenient.
It's been 10 months and this divorce thing is still really affecting me. I don't know why but I find it hard to do the things I used to love to do. Blogging included. BUT... this isn't a therapy session its a muthafuggin shoe blog so let's get to it!

This last Friday we shot for the new Fall 2012 Cece L'amour and Penny Loves Kenny lines. IT WAS SO AWESOME!! We had a really great team of super talented people and we had a lot of fun. Like, probably more fun than you're supposed to have when you're working ;) We shot it at the beautiful Biltmore hotel in downtown Los Angeles and shot from 10am to close to 10pm. Crazy long day!

I'm no longer designing for bebe. I've handed it off to another designer who's got some great ideas and is going to have a lot of fun with it. I'm now concentrating on my own brand, Cece L'amour... my baby. And a really fun brand named Penny Loves Kenny. We own both of those names and I think it's awesome to be designing for the 2 brands that my father's company actually owns. It's more personal.

Anyway- here's a look behind the scenes...

The best part about these shoots was that I got to use my beautiful friends as models. It's so INSANE that I have actual friends that are this beautiful.
The amazing and ridiculously gorgeous Skully Smith for Penny Loves Kenny...

Me in my Cece L'amor floral mary janes, deciding which shoe to shoot next...

Up next, another stunning friend of mine, Dianna Ryan for Cece L'amour.

These are my favorite for fall!!

And me again, in rare form. FLATS!? Yep. Sometimes you gotta get on the roof of the historic Biltmore hotel in your Chucks. ;)

Love you all!!

Cece L'amour on Endless.com

Another amazing online retailer is now carrying Cece L'amour! At the time of this post Endless.com has six styles!!

You guys, I'm beside myself. I've decided to buy a pair myself to support the brand. haha
I'm still waiting on Zappos 'cause they'll have the Leeah in black, which I love. Endless only has red as of now (which is really more of a pink)

Heels.com added 2 additional styles and they now have 6 styles total. I couldn't be happier!

I'm currently working on my 4th season and I'm really excited to show you guys what's next.
Thanks for your continued kind words and support. I love you guys :)

Cece L'amour Shoes, Finally in Stores!!

It feels like it's been forever but I'm happy to announce that my first collection for Cece L'amour will be available at the end of this month!! YAY! The first few places to carry them will be Heels.com, Zappos.com and Amazon.com (so honored to have your support!!!)

Here are the styles that you'll be able to purchase...

♥♥(Katie)♥♥

(Christie)
(Heidi)
(Tanisha)
(Juls)
♥♥(Leah)♥♥

It's so awesome that the shoe names that made the cut are some of my favorite people in the whole world. My 3 very best friends, Katie (my sister) Christie and Leah are up there and that makes me so happy! Heidi was one of my bridesmaids and someone that people would often mistake for my twin. Tanisha worked with me at Titan for forever and was always so supportive. She's someone I can always talk to about anything. And Juls is one of my favorite friends to go out with! We always have an amazing time and I can ALWAYS count on her to cut the bullshit and be real with me.

So now you know the personalities behind the shoes. I hope you like them and will help spread the word :) I'd love to be able to continue making fun, girly shoes for you forever and ever and I hope to get better and better at making shoes people like.

THANK YOU to everyone reading this for your continued support. I feel so lucky to have so many awesome friends... I truly consider my readers to be my friends.

Big ol' XOX,
