I Love Lanvin!

And here's another reason to. Their most recent ad campaign is so great...

And here's one that someone remade which I find VERY funny!
Lanvin x Slipknot? Really??

Haha I looooove when designers, especially really well respected ones, don't take themselves too seriously. It's so refreshing. Their last few campaigns have been really cheeky and I love it.

Some Lanvin favorites of mine:

My Christmas party dress from last year. I mean look how excited I look in it. Like I might kidnap a baby!
(Lanvin x H&M, shoes- Louboutin)

Headless limbless model looks less crazy.
These flats that I STILL wear even though this post is 100 years old.
You guys, I'm still cracking up over that pic up there...

Remember that juice cleanse I'm on? It's kinda making me delirious.

Anyway...

There's also these shoes that I may forever regret not getting-
They're so pretty and feminine and dainty.

These sexy beasts...

I love the mix of a sexy shoe with industrial type details. So good.

Lanvin shoes and Lanvin x H&M are as close as I'll get to the brand for now. I may have a killer shoe closet but designer clothes are still out of my price range. But some day when I'm rich and famous I will wear Chloe Miu Miu and Prada all day, Stella McCartney for glamorous BBQs, and Lanvin for nights out with the girls! Oh yes daaaahling!

Time to Cleanse

I decided that while I'm in New York for this whole self re-descovery trip, I wanted to do a cleanse. I've actually wanted to do one since I heard about this all juice cleanse from Organic Avenue.
Well, I am now on day 3 of 5 and it's surprisingly not too bad! I'm more bored than hungry.
This is what my day of juices looks like...

It all starts with a chlorophyl shot that turns my teeth and mouth green...

And then its a juice every couple of hours after that.
I'm lucky that I actually like fruits and almost all veggies- I can't imagine how hard this would be if I didn't!

I woke up this morning SUPER cranky and my walk to Soho to pick up my juice for the day was rough. Every restaurant I passed was filled with delicious smells and annoying happy people EATING! haha.
I'm glad I haven't cracked though. It's definitely more of a mental thing... by not eating solid foods you really realize how food centric our lives are. Most social activities are based on food. It's crazy! I've also noticed that a lot of times I think "oh- I want a snack" it's not because I'm hungry, it's out of boredom! That's a habit I hope to break...

Yesterday I sat and watched the documentary Forks Over Knives (available on instant cute on Netfix right now!!) and it really helped me stay motivated. I highly recommend it even if you're a meat eater like me. I was a vegetarian for 9 years and then was eating mostly vegan for over 8 months last year. I'm a sucker for bacon (bad Jew) and I like an occasional burger but it's good to be reminded how unhealthy and fattening meat is. I'm hope I'm not sounding preachy- I just want to share my thoughts ;)

BUT WHAT ABOUT SHOES?? Hello? Shoe blog!

Well, ok... here are some shoes for you.
I wore my new Burberry creepers (and creeper inspired outfit) to help Gala celebrate her birthday. It was at a super cool bar called Bedlam and I happily sipped water as not to break my cleanse!

(Dress- Amy Winehouse for Fred Perry)

 (shoes- Burberry)

(tights- Bebe)

Love and shiny clean insides,

New Shoes, New Me?

Ok so you know it's hard to have a personal blog without getting personal.
I've said it before but I just want to reiterate... I am not myself right now. Going through a divorce, whether it's your choice or not, is fucking hard. Harder than I could have imagined. There are so many things I never considered, including that this is one of the biggest tests of true friendship I'd ever witness. It's hard to lose your partner and some of your friends at the same time. It's hard to hear people's negative opinions on what you feel is the right thing to do.
Anyway, you get the point... it's HARD.
So, I don't know why it has come to such a shock to me that I haven't wanted to do anything that I used to do -GET THIS- including shopping. My favorite thing ever.

WTF?

I have barely looked twice at shoes. I went through a period of about a month where I didn't wear a pair of heels once! I just couldn't. I joked that my feet were depressed but I'm not sure I was joking.
Then I bought the Miu Miu glitter shoes...

 TAH DAH!

...to cheer myself up. It worked for about 2.5 seconds and then it was back to the pits. And the flats. Then I really wasn't interested in lusting over things like shoes or blogging about shoes, until... New York. Good ol New York and the thrill of fashion week. I honestly don't care too much about going to a bunch of shows but there's just something in the air here. It's so... fashion-y!

Yesterday I bought what I think is one of the coolest shoes of the season. I'm obsessed with creepers! I wore them every day in high school and tried to design my own versions of them for both Betsey Johnson AND Harajuku Lovers but the buyers just didn't get them. They probably never will. They're not commercial enough. Pfffffft- whatever. I've noticed them popping on and off trend for years now. I WILL ALWAYS LOVE YOU CREEPERS!

Anyway... so into Burberry I went with a clear mission. To get my statement shoe of the season. (Well, my non-glitter statement shoe. I'm making 2 statements really.)

I mean, are you kidding me? They're perfect! My shoe lust is back with a vengeance. I'm scared.

Do you love!? I know creepers aren't for everyone but what do YOU think??

Next shoe on my radar? Well I'm glad you ask. I am obsessing over this amazing heel from hell by Bally (kinda random) I'm hoping they'll come up with some more uppers because I'm not crazy about this one. Feels a little 2010 to me. I just love the heel and platform shape.

AND this super cool extremely curved heel by Walter Steiger... So cool!

I'm feeling ok today. I'm feeling more like The Shoe Girl than I have in a while.

YAY SHOES!!!!!!!!!
