Decades Shoe Event!

Decades, one of my favorite vintage stores in LA, is having an incredible event this weekend and I knew you'd want me to share. At their Melrose location (8214 Melrose Ave.) they'll be handing out $500 gift cards to random shoppers who are among the first 100 people in line on Saturday.
Seriously.

No need to wait though because their online sale is happening AS I TYPE THIS, so get over there and check it out! You know that Friday is official Shop At Work While Your Boss Is Busy Getting Ready For The Weekend Day. Or SAWWYBIBGRFTW as I call it. ;)

Enter code 15OFF for an additional 15% off your purchase (excluding $150 shoes and Lyn Revson collection) Included in the sale are incredible deals on shoes by Christian Louboutin, Jimmy Choo, Dior, Fendi, YSL, Chloe, Chanel!!! Why are you still reading this!? Go go go!

Let me know what you get!!

Trend Spotting: The Sneaker Wedge

I've noticed this weird thing about sneaker wedges. They're EVERYWHERE!!!!

I think they're super cute but these Isabel Marant ones down yonder are over $600 which is kind of lame if you ask me. And since you're reading, I assume you'd ask me.
I'm not one to shy away from spending some serious cash on awesome shoes but for sneakers?? Eeeeeeeeehhhh.... I dunno. Plus, I'm a little weary cause it kind of reminds me of the time I was really into buying Nike dunks. I bought some limited edition ones I found in LA and a pair in Japan that looked like they were made of unicorns. I wore them with skinny jeans and hipster scarves. That phase didn't last long.
These are different though I think. There's something chic about them. The height helps elevate them if you'll excuse the cheesy play-on words.

I'm still a little on the fence. Maybe I'll start out with an inexpensive pair to test the waters. What do you think??

Celebrity Shoe Closets

Good morning! Is it already Monday again?? Well hopefully this post will be a little pick me up.

I LOVE me a good shoe closet ladies. Isn't it funny how that's actually a thing now? A closet specifically for shoes? Celebrities have made having one feel almost normal. I said almost.
The closets seem to keep getting more and more extravagant and I'd bet the pressure to outdo the other girls is intense! It's like a celebrity home staple now. I think it just proves that the relationship between a woman and her shoes is a powerful one. There's something truly special about just the right pair, or for these ladies and myself, the right hundred or so pairs ;)

Here's a roundup of some pretty awesome shoe closets...

Maybe the original? Joan Crawford

The QUEEN of shoes, Imelda Marcos has an entire shoe museum!

My dear friend, Adrienne Maloof. (the photo doesn't do her collection justice)

 Christina Aguilera

Coco

Khloe Kardashian

 Mariah Carey

Miley Cyrus

 Nicky Hilton

 Paula Abdul

Jessica Alba

Kimora Lee

Even the guys are into it!

As for non celebrities, here are my past shoe closets...

This was back in 2004 when I was singe and had a condo with a ridiculous 300sq ft shoe closet all to myself. This started my obsession with shoe storage and I'm afraid I'll never be the same again.

And this is my old house. We didn't have a ton of extra room so we converted out office into an office/shoe room.

And later still, and still in the works- here's a little peek at my current shoe closet in my new apartment. Single again with just my shoes to keep me warm. ;) I kid. I have to make light of my pain... don't judge.

Who's closet is your favorite??
