Prada's Fall collection is on the top of my lust list. The daisy embellished chunky mary jane platform in oxblood is my absolute favorite, but all of these are pretty groovy if you ask me... 

Behind the Scenes...Photo Shoe-t

I know, I know. Almost a month without posting, I totally suck. I hope you follow my Tumblr because I update that almost daily. It's so convenient. 

It's been 10 months and this divorce thing is still really affecting me. I don't know why but I find it hard to do the things I used to love to do. Blogging included. BUT... this isn't a therapy session its a muthafuggin shoe blog so let's get to it!

This last Friday we shot for the new Fall 2012 Cece L'amour and Penny Loves Kenny lines. IT WAS SO AWESOME!! We had a really great team of super talented people and we had a lot of fun. Like, probably more fun than you're supposed to have when you're working ;) We shot it at the beautiful Biltmore hotel in downtown Los Angeles and shot from 10am to close to 10pm. Crazy long day!

I'm no longer designing for bebe. I've handed it off to another designer who's got some great ideas and is going to have a lot of fun with it. I'm now concentrating on my own brand, Cece L'amour... my baby. And a really fun brand named Penny Loves Kenny. We own both of those names and I think it's awesome to be designing for the 2 brands that my father's company actually owns. It's more personal.

Anyway- here's a look behind the scenes...

The best part about these shoots was that I got to use my beautiful friends as models. It's so INSANE that I have actual friends that are this beautiful.

If You Don't Like Fur... You Won't like Fall

Accessory reports are showing that fur is huge for Fall 2010. Yikes.

Fur is bad enough on coats but at least you can say that they keep you warm. Fur on your feet??

According to top designers, yes.

If you ask me? No.

Gross gross gross. I'm all for a little shearling trim on a cool boot like this one from Burberry

But the following shoes are just silly. And cruel.

Lanvin's Fox fur boot.

Why would you want to look like you had fat hairy legs??

Celine (the design house, not me) has this option for those of you who just want fur between your toes. Sweaty.

Chanel is doing fur in a cruelty free way... faux fur. Less cruel on the animals but not on my eyes!

The second one looks like a Wooly Mammoth and the ice he got frozen in.

Louboutin uses Coyote....

Coyote balls?? Weird.

While Hermes uses Raccoon...

Pierre Hardy uses Marmot (a kind of giant squirel)

Then Manolo trumps them all and uses Chinchilla fur

While my pet Chinchilla, Fafi strongly objects. Aint she cute?

Then, just when you think it couldn't get any more vulgar, Roger Vivier gives small defenseless animals a big ol middle finger and sticks a dyed pink fox face on a clutch. Classy.

Listen. I'm not an animal rights activist but fur has never really sat well with me. Even if these shoes were all faux fur, I still wouldn't like them cause they look silly.

What do you guys think about fur on shoes?? What is your stance on fur, if you have one?

Embracing My Dark Side

So I realize that I've taken WAY to long to post these babies considering how in love with them I am so for that, I apologize.

Anyway- Today I jumped the gun on Fall... I just can't wait for colder weather I guess. It was an uncomfortable 80-something degrees today and I was regretting my outfit choice. Good thing I was in air conditioned rooms all day I suppose. ;)

Looking at my pictures I now realize that this sweater isn't at all flattering so no need to point that out. Haha. I kinda look like a potato.

These shoes make me want to play up my darker side! I know there's all this black lipstick on the runways and in the magazines, but I just cant pull it off with my blonde hair. I opted instead for a super dark almost black plum, topped with a super sparkly bright pink to soften it up a bit. I'm also loving this black/gold instant smoky eye. Just rub it on and voilla!

As for the shoes, they're as killer as they look! One of my favorite shoe quotes EVER is from Marilyn Monroe in Gentlemen Prefer Blondes when she says "A lady never admits her feet hurt!"

Well, I won't admit it but I'll let my Hello Kitty ice pack do the talking...
