Diapers Rule!

Yep. You read correctly... diapers rule. Well, they're ruling the runways at least. And maybe when I say diaper I really mean these shorts that kinda look like a slightly more flattering version of adult diapers.

If I was a really dedicated blogger I'd go buy a pair of Depends and model them for you for a compare and contrast. It's bad enough googling "women's adult diaper" You see some freaky stuff.

Anyway- see what I mean....

Happy New Year!

ShoeGirl = JewGirl and tonight begins the jew year Jewish new year! So shana tova to my fellow tribesmen!
Here's to a better year than last and to continued health, happiness, and high ass heels!
Thank you guys for your support- especially lately :)

Before I go, I'd like to leave you with a super informative video about the holiday and it's meaning...

Jeeze. That dude is creepy.

See you in a few days! XOX
Loveeeeee,

Trendspotting- Peek-a-boo Shoes!

If your feet have been craving a peep show they're in luck. If the Spring runways shows are any indication of what's to come (imagine that) then vinyl shoes are all the rage!

Dolce & Gabana's shoes were almost exclusively see through...

These were my favorite and seemed to be the most forgiving for those with less than pretty toes...

They're equipped with little toe shields!

Macrame AND vinyl AND a woven heel/platform?? That's a whole lot of shit gong on. Imagine how foggy they'd get after a quick jog a-la Carrie Bradshaw. I always loved how she ran in her Manolos.
Anyway! I digress...

Missoni. Oh Missoni... These are cuckoo crazy.

Little barber shop pole heel, mixed material flowers, striped print, mismatching colors. Serious WTF?

I'm LOVING these milky lucite glasses by Prabal Gurung ♥

Oh Versace. Always serving the fiercest of tranny hooker shoes.

Loving this ombre sort of spray painted bottom.

Plus I'm having a serious love affair with wedges right now.

Marchesa showed clear in mesh form...
A less sweaty way to wear the trend for sure.

And don't forget about these guys from my previous post.

Will you be hopping on the clear shoe bandwagon?

Vroom Vroom!

Love them or hate them, Prada's latest runway shoes definitely make a statement. "I like classic cars."
That or "Look at my fancy ass Prada runway shoes. Neener neener neeeeeener!"

Either way, they've grown on me since I started writing this post. First reaction? These are hideous! Especially the first pair.
Yikes are we back in the 90's where I customized my flair legged Jnco jeans with flames going up the legs?? (true story) No thank you.
But now I'm seeing them as definite art pieces. They're pretty amazing (except the first one that I still hate) I love the brake lights on the back.  The chrome heels... the vintage car color palette. Great attention to detail.

 Cute bag!

I love this one. It reminds me of my very first dream car. A vintage pink Chevy Bel Air...

What do YOU think?? Too crazy? Just crazy enough?
Do you like the idea of heels as art or do you prefer your art to hang on the wall?

I say it every season... Miuccia Prada is a genius. I am SO excited to see what she has in store for us with Miu Miu this season. She never disappoints.

London Calling!

I knew it!!! Some great shoes are already coming out of London Fashion Week :)

My homies at Burberry (I use the term homie loosely, it's a one sided friendship) showed some pretty awesome tribal inspired shoes

What a great color palette!

These remind me of something though.........
 ...Just sayin.

I love how the striped jacket is interpreted in this wedge...

What a great woven shoe! So much work and such rich earthy tones. I love.

Looks like Charlotte Olympia worked with Matthew Williamson on some pretty great shoes. I LOVE the mixes of material and the colored lucite heels.

They look a little heavy and more like Fall than Spring, but they're great nonetheless.

Excited for what's to come!!

New Shoes from New York Fashion Week

London Fashion week is in full swing but it's quiet here in New York. In the aftermath of NYFW a few shoes are still on my mind. Some good, some not so good. Here are my highlights....

Winner!

These crazy ass shoes, shown by Vera Wang and accented by crazy toes McGee on the left, are my favorite so far.
You guys know I LOVE my tranny hooker shoes and if these aren't... I don't know what is. Proof? Beyonce was wearing a pair in the front row. Girl knows her T.H. shoes.

Another shoe to love are these amazing wedges by Derek Lam. Love.

While on the subject of wedges, I love this DKNY wedge! Feminine AND sexy. I love the abstract floral pattern

These heels by Rodarte are pretty great. They remind me of Star Wars...

C3P0 and R2D2?!

Also, loving this heel cup thing going on. Very futuristic.

(DVF)

There are some definite trends I'm noticing, including a lot of clear vinyl being used...

These are adorable, especially with the neon sock!

 (Oscar de la Renta)

These look kinda painful. Ouch.
 (Carolina Herrera)

 No Thank you.
(Marc Jacobs Collection)

Hmmmm, not so much.
 (Phllip Lim)

And although Elle.com called this python, it's actually fish skin.

(Phillip Lim)

Fish looks so cool! I've always loved it. It's kinda like an exaggerated cartoon version of snake skin.
(Alexander Wang)

This silhouette is something we see from a few different brands, though Marc Jacob's version is my favorite. Vintage inspired with a perfect feminine tapered heel. Cute!
(Marc Jacobs)

 (Tory Burch)

(Oscar de le Renta)

(Derek Lam)

The pointy toe is back people!

I'm really excited to see the London Milan and Paris shows and hope that there will be some more excitement there. I'm not totally crazy about many shoes so far. I'm seeing a lot of '90s looking blocky heels (like Phillip Lim's) and a return to single soles (shoes without platforms). Also, the strappy sandal is back in a big way- which I'm not fond of since they tend to dig into your feet. Here's a couple examples of the kind of sandal I mean. Those straight across teeny tiny straps...

What are your favorites!?

I'm going home tomorrow. I shortened my trip by a week cause I'm totally home sick. What a baby, huh? I think I accomplished my goal here in New York... I'm officially re-inspired :)

Love and big fat kisses,
